35% of infertility cause can be identified through sperm testing. Deficiencies in sperm count (number of sperm), sperm motility (ability to move), and sperm morphology (size and shape) can indicate fertility challenges.
To provide an optimal sperm sample with the highest sperm count, we suggest avoidance of ejaculation for 2 to 5 days prior to giving a sperm sample; this sample will then undergo a full semen analysis in our world-class lab.
Samples will be collected at our fertility centre with professionalism and discretion.
A semen analysis checks the quantity and quality of sperm in the ejaculate – there should be more than 15 million sperm per milliliter of semen, a large percentage of these sperm should be mobile, and least a sample percentage should have a normal shape – morphology. If results aren’t ideal, the analysis will be repeated, due the variance of a sperm sample.
Potential male contributing factors are not uncommon and we suggest you see a fertility specialist if you are unsuccessful in conceiving. Sperm testing should be done if a man is experiencing the following issues: erection problems, low sex drive, surgery of the area, vasectomy reversal and more.
