Dr. Peter Leung , MD, FRCS

Dr. Peter Leung graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1977. He continued with his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the McGill University and the University of British Columbia.

During his years of residency at UBC, he had special interest in the area of infertility, surgery and endocrinology. He was active in the infertility research and was awarded multiple medical Research Council of Canada research grants. He published several papers in the area of ovulation induction.

In 1981, upon completion of his residency Dr. Peter Leung was offered the opportunity to participate in the pioneering research work at the Royal Women’s Hospital of University of Melbourne, Australia. At that time, it was the second centre in the world to achieve successful IVF pregnancy. The research in this area was still in its infancy. Within a few months, his excellent works in both clinical and laboratory research earned him a full member of the team. He became a senior research fellow at the university. One of his research papers was awarded best scientific paper by the Australian Fertility Society in 1982.

His many publications included a paper on a sperm wash method for intrauterine insemination and IVF in 1984, which is currently used worldwide. He also participated in the writing of a chapter on advances in IVF fertility treatment in 1986.

Upon return to Canada, Dr. Peter Leung spent a brief period of time as a teaching fellow at the University of British Colombia. He subsequently returned to Toronto and led a novice team of physicians. In 1987, he was apart of the team that started the IVF Canada clinic in Scarborough to satisfy the demand of a large number of patients. He once worked as the Medical and Laboratory Director. Through those years in Toronto, the team became the first in Canada to accomplish successes in many areas of advanced reproductive technology including donor eggs, embryo freezing, surrogacy and pregnancy from intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Dr. Peter Leung is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and American Fertility Society. He was certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1983.


Dr. Farid Abdel Hadi, MD, FRCS

Dr. Farid Abdel Hadi graduated from Cairo University medical school where he also obtained a clinical master’s degree and clinical Medical Doctoral Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He then subspecialized in fertility, IVF, and helped launch a fertility centre in Cairo, Egypt as well as in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In Canada, he went through residency training at University of Toronto and attained his Royal College fellowship. He also obtained a master’s degree of Bioethics from University of Toronto.

Dr. Farid Abdel Hadi is on staff at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Queen’s University.

Dr. Farid Abdel Hadi is licensed to practice in Canada, Egypt and China, and is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society as well as the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. While his goal is getting you pregnant, he cares very much about your clinical experience through the process of treatment.


Dr. Haidar Mahmoud, MD, FRCS

Dr. Haidar Mahmoud is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He finished his residency training from the University of Toronto in 1995 and is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Haidar Mahmoud has also been an active staff member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Scarborough Hospital, and was a chief of Department for 10 years.

Dr. Haidar Mahmoud is an active lecturer for both medical students and residents in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto and has a special interest in quality improvement and patient safety. He was awarded The Scarborough Hospital Award of Excellence in Medical Education in 2013.

Dr. Haidar Mahmoud is highly skilled in Minimally Invasive Reproductive Surgery, with vast experience in treating uterine and pelvic related matter.


Dr. Anthony Auyeung , MD, FRCS

Dr. Anthony Auyeung obtained his MD from the University of Toronto in 1991 and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 1996. He then went on to Washington University in St. Louis, USA to complete a three-year American Board Certified Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), after which he returned to Toronto in 1999 to practice as a Reproductive Endocrinologist.

Dr. Auyeung graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Pharmacy in 1983 and obtained licensure to practice as a pharmacist in British Columbia and Ontario. He embarked on further training and obtained a M.Sc. (Pharmacology and Therapeutics) in 1986. Extensive research experience and scientific publications in electro-neurophysiology provide a unique perspective of the physiological actions of drugs, allowing him to individualize medication protocols to each patient. This individualized approach has been the hallmark of more than two decades of clinical practice.

Dr. Auyeung is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the USA.
