Dr. Peter Leung graduated from the University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1977. He continued his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McGill University and the University of British Columbia. During his residency at UBC, he developed a special interest in infertility, surgery, and endocrinology, actively engaging in infertility research and receiving multiple Medical Research Council of Canada research grants. He published several papers on ovulation induction.
In 1981, after completing his residency, Dr. Leung joined the pioneering research team at the Royal Women’s Hospital of the University of Melbourne, Australia, the second center in the world to achieve successful IVF pregnancy. His exemplary work in both clinical and laboratory research earned him a full membership on the team, and he became a senior research fellow at the university. One of his research papers was awarded the best scientific paper by the Australian Fertility Society in 1982.
Dr. Leung’s numerous publications include a paper on a sperm wash method for intrauterine insemination and IVF in 1984, which is now used worldwide. He also contributed to a chapter on advances in IVF fertility treatment in 1986.
Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Leung spent a brief period as a teaching fellow at the University of British Columbia. He then moved to Toronto, where he led a team of physicians and helped establish the IVF Canada clinic in Scarborough in 1987, addressing the high demand for fertility services. Under his leadership, the team achieved many firsts in Canada in advanced reproductive technology, including successes with donor eggs, embryo freezing, surrogacy, and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
Dr. Leung is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and the American Fertility Society. He was certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1983.
Dr. Farid Abdel Hadi graduated from Cairo University Medical School, where he also obtained a clinical master’s degree and clinical Medical Doctoral Degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He then specialized in fertility and IVF, helping to launch fertility centers in Cairo, Egypt, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In Canada, Dr. Abdel Hadi completed residency training at the University of Toronto and earned his Royal College fellowship. He also obtained a master’s degree in Bioethics from the University of Toronto. Dr. Abdel Hadi is on staff at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa and is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Queen’s University.
Dr. Abdel Hadi is licensed to practice in Canada, Egypt, and China, and is a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. While his primary goal is helping patients achieve pregnancy, he is deeply committed to ensuring a positive clinical experience throughout the treatment process.
Dr. Haidar Mahmoud is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed his residency training at the University of Toronto in 1995 and is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Mahmoud has been an active staff member in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Scarborough Hospital, serving as chief of the department for 10 years.
Dr. Mahmoud is an active lecturer for both medical students and residents in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. He has a special interest in quality improvement and patient safety and was awarded The Scarborough Hospital Award of Excellence in Medical Education in 2013.
Dr. Mahmoud is highly skilled in minimally invasive reproductive surgery, with extensive experience in treating uterine and pelvic-related issues.
Dr. Anthony Auyeung obtained his MD from the University of Toronto in 1991 and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Ottawa in 1996. He then completed a three-year American Board Certified Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) at Washington University in St. Louis,
USA, after which he returned to Toronto in 1999 to practice as a Reproductive Endocrinologist.
Dr. Auyeung graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Pharmacy in 1983 and obtained licensure to practice as a pharmacist in British Columbia and Ontario. He pursued further training and earned an M.Sc. in Pharmacology and Therapeutics in 1986. His extensive research experience and scientific publications in electro-neurophysiology provide a unique perspective on the physiological actions of drugs, allowing him to tailor medication protocols to each patient. This individualized approach has been the hallmark of his more than two decades of clinical practice.
Dr. Auyeung is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the USA.
