The Ontario Fertility Program (OFP), launched in 2015, aims to reduce the financial barrier for families through public funding for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), and Fertility Preservation*. The heart of the program delivers equitable access to fertility treatment for Ontarians.
The Ontario government is investing $250 million over three years to increase the number of clinics participating in the OFP.
The province is also implementing the new Ontario Fertility Treatment Tax Credit, retroactive to January 1, 2025. The credit will provide up to $5,000 in annual support by covering 25 per cent of eligible fertility-related expenses, including IVF cycles, fertility medications, travel for treatment and diagnostic testing at IVF Canada, the top fertility clinic in Ontario.
As our government continues to protect Ontario families and the services they rely on, this historic announcement will triple the number of families benefitting from government-funded IVF services,
said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. “More people and families across the province will be able to access government-funded fertility services faster, more conveniently and with more financial support.”

The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) pays for many health services you may need. There is no longer a waiting period for OHIP coverage. If you are eligible, you will have immediate health insurance coverage. Click here.
