This is a non invasive medical intervention with the goal of making sure that the cycle is going on as we expect, as per ‘normal menstrual cycle’ above. We start by a routine ultrasound, and repeat ultrasound a few times, looking at the ovary and the follicles that are growing in it. At times we do a blood test to check for the hormone levels, and how they are changing during this cycle.
Cycle monitoring can be seen as part investigation part treatment. So, when we try this intervention for the first time, we are investigating the female cycle. If we proceed with it after known that she is ovulating, it can be used to better time intercourse closest to the time of ovulation.
